Weekend Tidbits

While my friends Pat, Leona, and I were concocting a little something exciting (watch out!), we did a bit of mixing on the side. It was quite buzzing but nonetheless a perfect way of happy weekending. Pardon the writing, I'm quite in the mood for rhyming.

happy weekend

Tonight, we'll be doing some mixing and muddling. To wear something refreshing is only but fitting. Cheers to a happy weekend!

Happy Weekend

It's the morning after Thanksgiving for some of us. In our part of the world we don't celebrate but that doesn't mean we're any less grateful. In fact, I am very much so. There are so many things, tangible and not, to be grateful of. One of which is this project. Carioca is back. And with a bang, I'd like to think.

My sister and I have been working on this for months now and seeing the end result is nothing short of fulfilling. Watch out for the reveal in the next few days.

Meanwhile, enjoy your pies and your weekend!

Happy Weekend

'Hope its not too late to wish you a happy weekend. Half of it is gone just like that but we are having a light one starting off with some cheese shopping this morning. Jindi Brie for soft and Covap Semi Curado for hard are the usual frontrunners. Cheese oh cheese... they'e not exactly the healthiest of indulgences but can sure easily make our weekend.

Happy Weekend

"Grace Bonney started a revolution. Now the revolution has a bible." And I got a hold of it! Now I am obsessed. Ladies, this is seriously good stuff. 400+ pages of inspiration. I am going through it 3-5 pages a day-- instant 'pick-me-upper' guaranteed!

One night while browsing the home tours aka sneak peeks, I told the Mr. that my heart's aflutter seeing spaces that are so gorgeous and yet attainable! (He just rolled his eyes, of course.)

Oh and I can't wait to get to the DIY portion! Though I am still conditioning myself to get into the right state of mind and actually try the DIYs that are coming my way.

This, truly is a bible for the design-hungry mind and we're not even talking about professionally-designed, high-priced interiors here. Which for me, is the best part of it all.

As Jonathan Adler quipped in the foreword, ".. design is about inspiration, not snobbism. It's about empowerment, self-expression, and pluck." Amen to that.

Have a design-filled weekend lovelies. It's another long weekend in our neck of the woods and we couldn't be more pleased!

P.S. Get a copy from National Bookstore or Powerbooks near you!

Happy Weekend

Hello lovelies. Just checking in swiftly to wish you all a happy weekend. How is it going so far? Ours is a little slow and extremely humid. While I stay in to escape the scorching heat, my mind is running pretty thoughts of hosting a wine night as I am ever so slightly obsessed with wine and cheese. The Mr. on the other hand is just as obsessed with cocktails schmocktials: gin, vodka, mixers, and all. I've got the invites ready. Just need details to fill it in with.

The little girl of course is invited but she'd rather host a milk and cookies fete. No invites for disposal, but that should be easy.

Do you like hosting small intimate parties? Planning and prepping for such is just as fun as the party itself, isn't it?

Have a good one you all.

Happy Weekend

This came in the mail last week. I'm a little bit late in posting as the party was last night. You see, when the dress code says glamorous, half of your day is gone prepping for it. With some work thrown in, my Friday slipped away just like that. Oh but I had an awesome night. Will tell you all about it on Monday.

Meanwhile, what are your plans this weekend? I'm wishing for a movie night (with lots of popcorn) with the Mr. who's coming back from a business trip this afternoon and a whole day of 'just us 3' on Sunday. Little things we used to take for granted are what we treasure much nowadays.

Have a good one, lovelies.

Weekend Tidbits

Hello lovelies! How was your weekend? Ours was short and sweet. As is always the case. It was about carousel rides, pet window shopping, my favorite pieces of late, and of course, Steve Jobs. I'm not exactly tech-savvy but he did get me into Mac and I never went back.

Happy Weekend

Before we head out to school, Le Misch and I are sharing with you a new fixture we've got hanging on our little nook. A bird cage! And a yellow one at that. Got this a few months back from Crossings' home section. It was in flat white and was a bit dull against my gray and white walls. We decided to give it a little punch and painted it yellow! Exact shade of paint was lemon punch.

It's punchy as we want it to be and we couldn't be more pleased. Upon hanging, Le Misch was quick to ask if she can get a bird to put inside. Ummm.. no. But she did get a few kisses and a huge hug for being just too cute.

We've got another Smart Netphone party tonight and I'm sure it's gonna be insane. How on earth did I become a club-goer?!

Have a good one, lovelies.

Happy Weekend

We're beach bound once again. But no Le Misch this time around and we're having mixed emotions. We know how much she loves the beach and it breaks my heart to leave her. But we need a little break and get some much needed R&R especially for the Mr. Travelling with a toddler, though I've quite mastered the skill, is no walk in the park or the beach for that matter. But we haven't even left and we're missing her already.

Oh well. Have a good one, lovelies.

Happy Weekend

It's Friday and I'm not that ecstatic for the weekend. Only because it means our all-too-short sojourn to the hometown is coming to an end. We fly back to Manila tomorrow and one thing thats getting me worked up is Chicify's first ever pop-up shop at the Port88 Ready, Set, SALE! That and the little project my sister and I have decided to revive which explains the stash of vintage fabrics above. Of course a polka dotted booted miss likes to join in the fun.

What plans have you laid out for the weekend? Set sale with us at Port88 if you've nothing exciting in the works. See ya!

Happy Long Weekend

There's nothing more exciting than unpacking new stocks. The downside is, I want to keep most if not all to myself. Ooops. Baubles, purses, even quirky chopstick trainers up soon in Chicify.

What are your plans for the weekend? Ours is extra long but we've decided on a little staycation and just enjoy the city at its quiet state.

Have a good one lovelies.

Weekend Tidbits

We had a pretty much laid back weekend most of it spent down South. Hence the quick trip to this store my friend Sarah has been raving about. Funky Plum Vintage is a treasure trove of good finds. Just a little over a minute in the store, I chanced upon a beautiful, almost sheer, vintage pleated dress that instantly caught my fancy. Even Le Misch was giddy with all the fab finds (at equally fabulous prices)! We walked away happy and pleased with the little miss clutching a brown paper bag wrapping the newest addition to my vintage loot.

The easy yet well-spent weekend that was. How was yours?

P.S. Click on the Funky Plum Vintage link for store details.

Happy Weekend!

These ladies are getting shipped out to Singapore over the weekend. The yellow croc, distressed tan, and pony hair number took my breath away. I just had to keep one for myself. Bliss in small packages sure makes my weekend.

Have a fabulous one, lovelies.

Happy Weekend!

My Fall mood board is looking like this. I'm not ready to let go of color hence the vibrancy still, but in a richer, more textured feel. Just thought I'd share with you on a rainy Friday evening. Have a good weekend lovelies.

Happy Weekend!

I'm a scallop kind of girl. So when greeted with a bunch of these today, my weekend is totally made. Up soon in CHICIFY.

Happy Weekend!

Have you got something fun laid out for the weekend? My straw tote has been itching to see the light of day and has been out most of the week. Somedays leather bags tire me that I turn to good 'ole straw tote jazzed up by some Missoni action. Makes me feel its weekend all week.

I know in a couple of hours the weekend is over but here's to wishing you're having a bold and colorful one every step of the way.

Happy Weekend!

Sharing with you a little nook we have around our halfway house. As much as we want to renovate, we cannot. But you'll spy snippets of the dwellers around here. Le Misch calls this her library. Those pretty wooden ladies I scored at a flea market recently for Php100($2.5) a set!

Every night, before we go to bed, she picks 3 books to read. 1 for Dada and 2 for Mama. Although Dada has found a shortcut lately. He downloaded some books into the Ipad which read by themselves. Talk about tech-savvy shortcut parenting!

Meanwhile I still like it the old fashion way. Reading books before bedtime. Last night she insisted she reads to me instead. At first I was surprised she could read but no, she just memorized the lines coz when I looked it was upside-down. Haha! Oh and do you spot that crown hanging over our pile of whatnots? I get to be Princess Mama some nights too.

Hope you have something fun planned this weekend. Our weekenders are packed and we are all set to go as soon as the Mr. gets off work. We are driving down south tonight and we'll be spending the weekend at the beach.
