A Little Girl's Fall Lookbook

We're off to somewhere chilly this holiday season. While we're still undecided whether to add snow to complete the whole White Christmas equation, it will still be cold nonetheless. Hence the anxiety of packing that comes with it.

Good thing there's 3.1 Phillip Lim for girls where Mischka and I like to take cues from.
Tan cable knit sweater and grey tights.
Stripes, leather, tights, and lots of layers!
Tonal neutrals.
Fleece and rubber boots.

Not that I dress her up in designer clothing. I don't even wish for such. Instead, I find joy in taking inspiration from geniuses like Phillip Lim and dress her up in practical, affordable clothing where she can look stylish and still be a kid. Sans me worrying of stains, rips, and whatnots while she's at it.

Falling for Fall {Modern Tribal}

As Fall rolls in at some parts of the world, I've finally decided to give my brights a rest. One look I'm feeling this season is the mashup of tribal prints and motifs toughened up with tailored pieces. Good news is, I think us mums can pull this off! Shop around your closet and you might just find something to that effect. Go ahead mix it up. Throw in some leather extras and keep everything else low-key.

Fantasy Closet {The Dropback}

I've entertained thoughts of the dropback skirt one too many times of late. Is it too trendy for a runaround mum like me? I'm definitely the skirt kind-of-gal but is it too ladylike for my style? Just some of the musings I have running on my mind whenever I come across one.

I am certainly digging the sheer possibilities Fall fashion has to offer but will I succumb to the dropback? We shall see. And in the event I would, I'd style it in a mummy-friendly way as such.

The Elements:
  1. Miss Selfridge Green Dropback
  2. 3.1 Phillip Lim Silk Muscle Tee
  3. Madewell City Storyteller Scarf
  4. Givenchy Nightingale
  5. H&M Flats
  6. Isabel Marant Leather Belt
  7. Butter in Minger

Happy Weekend!

My Fall mood board is looking like this. I'm not ready to let go of color hence the vibrancy still, but in a richer, more textured feel. Just thought I'd share with you on a rainy Friday evening. Have a good weekend lovelies.

Cycling Style Mavens

It all started with Scott Schuman's clever snaps of women on bikes dressed stylishly more often than not, in skirts.

And then there was that incident wherein a Dutch tourist (pictured below) in New York was pulled over by a cop. The crime? Biking in a short skirt!
With that, a fun protest was put together by a bunch of bike-riding, skirt-wearing ladies. What fun, right? Here are some snaps from Joanna's blog.
And now, Phillip Lim has joined the bandwagon, capitalizing on fashion's current obsession on bike-riding ladies. He recently released a short film showcasing his 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall/ Winter collection. It's well-made and has that charm and mystery written all over it. Not to mention, fabulous clothes.

Ahhh.. women, clothes, and bikes. There's something about that equation that's just so charming.

Fantasy Closet {Sheer Bliss}

I'm feeling the sheer trend this Fall. It's something we can easily do here in the tropics this season. Just make sure you wear the right underpinnings.  It doesn't have to be Kiki de Montparnesse. It just has to be decent enough. Pull it together with a well-cut tuxedo jacket. Try this look for a dinner date or a night out with the girls.

The Elements:
  1. Reiss Charlie Animal Print Sheer Silk Shirt
  2. Kiki de Montparnesse Cage Bra
  3. Topshop Dip Dye Maxi Skirt
  4. Antonio Berardi Tuxedo Jacket
  5. Diane Von Furstenberg Tondo Pony Clutch
  6. Giuseppe Zanotti Ankle-boot Sandals

Rachel Zoe Revealed

The much hyped collection of celebrity stylist cum designer Rachel Zoe, now very pregnant-but-hardly-showing, is finally out. And it does not disappoint.

The flared pants, the silk tie blouse, the 70's vibe, the glam bohome. Suffice to say, it's very Rachel. I like it. I think they're fab and very wearable too. Us mums can pull off most if not all of these looks here, ya? But I'm not ready for Fall. Not just yet.

It's Thursday and almost weekend, lovelies! Le Misch and I are flying to my hometown today, so it might get a little quiet in the home front. Although I am hopeful, the little girl will spare me some good few hours a day to sit back, blog a little, get creative, and keep my sanity in the process.
