Happy Weekend

We're beach bound once again. But no Le Misch this time around and we're having mixed emotions. We know how much she loves the beach and it breaks my heart to leave her. But we need a little break and get some much needed R&R especially for the Mr. Travelling with a toddler, though I've quite mastered the skill, is no walk in the park or the beach for that matter. But we haven't even left and we're missing her already.

Oh well. Have a good one, lovelies.

Weekend Tidbits

Pool. Mojitos. Silly hats. Boat. Fishing. Sunny skies (with occasional downpour). Our little girls' laughter. Good food. Great company. It doesn't get much better than this.

Weekend Tidbits

We just came from our little patch of heaven on earth. Goes without saying, although, we're all feeling some symptoms of vacation withdrawal, refreshed and rejuvenated- we all are. As hubby would say, he wanted to get away to 'reset/reboot.' And so reset and rebooted we did. 

3 full days with just the 3 of us is pure bliss. Not to say it's easy. With a feisty toddler who would run to the waters all by herself- read: no trace of fear whatsoever and a midnight trip to the resort clinic due to severe ear pains-read: you guessed right, too much swimming, it isn't always a walk in the park (or the beach, at that!). It's moments like these though that bind us even closer together. That, and the total Shangri-La Boracay experience.

Our weekend that was. Hope yours was as relaxing and refreshing as a tall glass of watermelon shake!

Chicify has released it's limited edition hand painted beach totes. Aren't they too cute to pass up on? Wherever you're headed this summer, don't ever compromise style. Your beach tote is just as important as your bikini, I think. 

The SALA Experience

I've been raving about this place and quite honestly I still think about it. I am simply amazed at the Thais' creativity and flair for design. They don't try too hard and yet they get it. They just do.

From high end fashion brands like Flynow to mid-range Jaspal (not to mention Jaspal Home!) to designer label Stretsis, to boutique hotels like Indigo Pearl and of course my beloved Condé Nast Traveler awardee, SALA. The Thais have yet again outdone themselves.

The very chic Sino Portuguese architecture, the beautiful Thai people, the world-class service, and the pampering spa escapade along with these photos pretty much sum up our sublime SALA experience.

Wow, I can't believe the week is also over. Today I have decided to stay home and spend the whole day with Le Misch. Ever since we got back, I have been extremely busy catching up with work and a lot of socials that I'm starting to miss our simple, blissful Singapore life. Makes me wonder, have we really gone home?

Azucar

Still on a high from a pleasurable vacation topped off with a wonderful wedding, I look back and admire the beautiful dresses that went down the aisle last Saturday afternoon. As I mentioned here before, the bride is a designer and it was only fitting that she dressed the whole entourage, most of the guests, and herself of course. She had 3 wedding gowns at her disposal that day. All of which equally beautiful.

She wore 2. I wish I was able to take good photos of them but amidst the heat, the adrenaline of Le Misch's first flower girl walk, and her being fussy (towards the end), I wasn't able to.

But here are my top picks from that day.

The fit of the dress was impeccable on her. I love the tiers, the color and most of all the handcrafted necklace, which by the way, was done by her.

A printed one-shoulder silk chiffon number with minimal bead work but what caught my fancy is the subtle show of skin and again impeccable fit.

Of course.

And as to what I wore, it was this exquisite creation of the Sipat sisters, the force behind Azucar. Arleen (the bride) designed the dress and Rov (the maid-of-honor) painstakingly hand beaded the back detail.

This wasn't a made-to-order piece, mind you. It was an off-the-rack purchase for another wedding months back. But I felt it deserved another go, this time around in a more fitting setting.

Now back at the city from a restful and rejuvenating stay here, I have to finish packing for yet another adventure. Le Misch and I are off to my hometown this time around, to spend some time with my family and to give her a little taste of my childhood. Let's see how that will go.
