The Little Things

Last night, we've finally gotten around to watching Midnight in Paris. While I was glued to the screen and was all over smitten after an hour and a half, the Mr. didn't even realize the movie was over. He wasn't paying attention, obviously.

As I may have mentioned in the past, Paris is my most favorite city in the world. I have only been once and it's magic really did rub off on me in a way that no other city has. I am probably just the worst romantic and I couldn't care less if the place and the people have been such a cliche. One of my silliest dreams is to someday move to Paris and just do as the Parisians do. Yes I am in love with the idea as much as I am with the place.

But more than the museums, the beautiful gardens, and the grand palaces, it's the little things that have got me dreamy of this French capital. The bistro chairs dotting the cafes, the street signs that are hard to miss but can easily get you lost, the baguette, that stripe boat neck shirt on the backs of the most perennially chic women I've seen, the gems you serendipitously find in pharmacies and the afternoons spent on a plaid mat with wine and cheese and the Tour Eiffel as a view. Le sigh...

Have you seen the movie?

Fantasy Closet {Parisian Chic}

While we're at it, might as well try one of Ines' Parisian Chic tips today. An evening dress with a straw bag in lieu of the ubiquitous gold clutch is refreshing. Kick off the pumps and let some bejeweled flat sandals do the talking (and the walking).

Throw on a not-so-classic leopard lined blazer and finish off with a good dose of charm and confidence. You might just get a little bit of that je ne c'est quoi these French girls have going on.

The Elements:
  1.  Zimmerman Noir Gold Tube Maxi Dress
  2. OQ Black Blazer
  3. Topshop Cram Straw Woven Twist Lock Purse
  4. Giuseppe Zanotti Embellished Sandals
  5. Mark Davis Lucy Ring
  6. YSL Paris EDT

Parisian Chic

I hardly have time to catch up on my reads, but this one falls under collection pieces, that's nice to have and go back to every once on awhile especially when you're a lover of all things Parisian.

French model Ines de la Fressange is sharing priceless styling tips on effortless glamour in this must-have style guide. Truly a purveyor of Parisian chic, her do's and dont's come with charming drawings by Ines herself.

My favorite tips are number 1 and number10. What's yours?
10. Jeans with gem-encrusted sandals (not sneakers)
1. An evening dress with a straw handbag (not with a gold clutch)

Moi, 4 years ago in Paris, pre-Mischka, sans the Parisian Chic Style Guide

I absolutely love Paris. I am crossing my fingers I get to go back and when I do, I'm bringing my petite fille with me.

Fantasy Closet {Dreaming of Paris}

Bonjour lovelies!

If there's a place on earth I wanna keep going back to, it's here. I ABSOLUTELY fell head over heels in love with this city, that my ultimate dream address {or one of} is an apartment on the 6th Arrondissement.

And if I ever lived here, my fantasy closet will be beaming with pleasure. What, with pieces suited for a Parisian lifestyle, I wouldn't have trouble blending in with the notoriously chic locals sans the accent and cigarette sticks {which will most probably give me away.}
