life as a bag knows it

Collaborated with 2 other mums mastering juggling acts of motherhood, better halves, entrepreneurs, and above all independent women-- that and the fact we all lug things around every single day leading our oh so mischmashed lives.

Hence these.

Nothing stellar. Just plain chic and functional everyday totes to add ease and flair to your everyday lives.

Made of high quality laminated canvas and leather handles, these are big enough to hold your needs for the baby, for working out, for the weekend, and for your trip to the supermarket! All these you can do in style. And for Php 880 (19 USD), how can you go wrong?

 So cheeky and so happy.

Catch the Rockwell Moonlit Bazaar this weekend beginning today at 12noon and grab a tote (or 2).

Happy Christmas shopping and happy long weekend!!!

Fantasy Closet --Udpating While Elongating

I owe a friend a trip to the coveted fantasy closet with a mission in mind. She wants to update her own with perennially flattering pieces that give the illusion of height.

Here's what I found.

 The Elements:
  1. Wide leg pants ending at the heels of your shoe is the most flattering.  Rag & Bone Perry Pants, barneys.com
  2. V neck tops lengthen the neck. Maison Martin Margeila, lagarconne.com
  3. Avoid oversized bags and go for the long strapped and structured. Proenza Schouler Small PS11, barneys.com
  4. Feminine and pointy pairs work best. Louis Vuitton, vogue.com.jp
  5. Vertical stripes for slimming and lengthening is cliché but empire cuts allow you to borrow some length from your torso thus gifting you with the illusion of that elusive few inches. John Lewis Cross Over Stripe Dress, johnlewis.com
  6. A long pendant necklace will not overwhelm and is a nice finishing touch. Alexander McQueen Swarovski Antique Brass Pendant, net-a-porter.com
Hope you're all having a stylish Wednesday!

snaps from the weekend

A week away from Le Misch made hubby and me craved for just a low-key weekend with every minute spent with her. We had some socials to attend and were glad to have her tag along to a wonderful "Peter Rabbit" themed baptism.

The weekend that was.

Swooning for Lanvin Hearts H&M

I wasn't that worked up for this collab as I knew it is somewhat impossible yet again for me to get a piece of it. And it might just be all hype anyway. Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Jimmy Choo, Matthew Williamson? Remember their rather mediocre collections for the Swede fashion giant? I had a few and they weren't bad but they weren't that great either.

Not until I came across these, that my heart's aflutter for such a brilliant collaboration.

"Everyone's taking high fashion to the high street, I wanted to try to bring the high street back to high fashion." -- Alber Elbaz via style.com

Very well said and very well done Mr. Elbaz.

Yes that's Anna Dello Russo walking down the runway trotting a poodle.

Lanvin and H&M called it a haute couture fashion show. A tuxedo jacket, a dress (any dress for that matter), and the necklaces!! That's my Lanvin + H&M wish list.

I've never quite seen a haute couture collection so wearable, best of all -- attainable! That is if you're ready to go to war as I heard it was armageddon-like when it finally hit stores over the weekend.

For the rest of us, we can all just watch the mayhem and wait until it reaches ebay. What cha think?

Happy Weekend!

There's something about trams that make me want to ride them whenever I'm here. Hubby finds it strange that I would rather ride them over trains and taxis.

Tram stop outside Pacific Place

Well for one it's not as crowded as the trains can get and definitely not as expensive as taxis. But more than that, it's the old world charm it brings. I love that it's open air and that you can just hop on and hop off on its many stops on the streets. Try it and get charmed when you find yourself in this corner of the world.

The Hong Kong holiday is over and I can hardly wait to see, hug, and smother the little girl with kisses. It's weekend and we are buzzed to be spending it with her.

Happy weekend you all!

You're Your Own Stylist at The Ramp

I once had a silly conversation with hubby about the silent insurgence of closet fashionistas. I found it silly because it might quite possibly be just the most trivial of things for his utterly serious corporate world. On the contrary, hubby was genuinely interested. Could he be a closet fashionista himself? Oh but being the kind hubby that he is, I know it is more than politeness that makes him listen to my random thoughts and musings. I know he was/ is genuinely interested.

I have come to realize that there are a lot of closet fashionistas among us. A lot of us Filipino women (and men included) want to be fashionably stylish but are scared to be so. I am no fashion expert, just a mere fashion-impassioned being. So this is just an observation. One reason for their fear could be the intimidating looks in fashion magazines and horrifying acquisition costs of the pieces used in these pages. Not to mention the reaction they get from the people around them when they start using fashion as a form of self-expression. But that's all there is to it, folks. Fashion is simply a medium for self-expression. It is a kind of Art we can all practice.

All you need is a good dose of confidence and a trip to ta-dah--- THE RAMP Crossings!

A few days ago, I went to The Ramp's Style Soiree. It was great to see and catch up with  familiar faces in the industry. It's been awhile since I last went to a press event. I have forgotten how much I enjoyed such. But marriage + baby happen (extremely grateful!) that I can no longer stay as long and drink as much as I want. Nonetheless, I had a blast.

Shopping started early.

Uber chic Crossings GM, Xandra Padilla giving a few words alongside gorgeous and hilarious host Bianca Valerio.

The Ramp invited top stylists and its celebrity endorser to grace the event and style personal looks from the The Ramp's holiday collection. I personally loved the idea and was so looking forward to seeing the varied looks.

The chosen five.

Pam Quinones. I forgot to tell her how I love her killer leopard pumps.

Jenni Epperson all garbed up for Fall.

Donna Cuna Pita and her skirt which she cleverly wore the front on the side.

Andi Eigenmann, The Ramp Crossings celebrity endorser, in action.

Rosanna Aranaz and her looks, which are my personal favorites.

Pam Quinones' looks. A clever mischmash of prints and textures.

Andi Eigenmann loves layering.

Jenni Epperson's genius mix of tailored, lace, and sparkles.

Donna Cuna Pita had a stylish family in mind.

Rosanna Aranaz used white and neutrals. A welcome break from all the black.

The Ramp Team, what I wore (Faith Hope Love romper + The Ramp cape + leopard print pumps + bronze necklaces from a flea market in Singapore = an attempt to do a Dries Van Noten-inspired ensemble), and what I took home. I won a coffee table book. Yay!

So there you go, friends. If I haven't yet made my point clear-- take cues from our favorite stylists and be your own. Fashion is fun and can do wonders. Even my dear hubby can attest to that.

Closet fashionistas-- UNITE! Come visit The Ramp Crossings and make it your coming out party. And the best part yet-- you need not break the bank to be stylish. There is everything for every occasion, personal style, and budget at this happy black hole of a shopping mecca. Black hole for me as I never leave this place without buying anything. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Happy holiday shopping!

Fantasy Closet-- Caping in Hong Kong

It's chilly outside and even if winter is fast approaching, it's not enough to bring out the thicker clothing. Not just yet.  It can be cold when you set foot out the door but midday is warm and sunny and cold again at night. My answer to transitional weather is the cape.

The cape is my obsession du jour. Most especially one in camel. It's easy and non-restricting albeit oh-so-chic. My fantasy closet has spoken and these are the pieces to bask in in the breezy and pleasant weather in Hong Kong now.

The Elements:
  1. Haniiy Camel Cape, vogue.com.jp
  2. Tapestry Floral Snood, topshop.com
  3. Thakoon Wedge Boot, lagarconne.com
  4. Givenchy Nightingale Maxi, cultstatus.com
  5. Vanessa Bruno Jersey Trousseau Top, largarconne.com
  6. Firetrap Merc Jagger Skinny Jeans, vanmildert.com
  7. Studded Wrap Watch, asos.com
 Enjoy your stylish Wednesday lovelies!

checking in from hong kong

Yes I am a little early for the Lanvin x H&M reveal, but no ladies, I am not here for that. (Well, of course, I kinda wish I was.) Hubby, who's here for business, was kind enough to have me tag along on the premise I won't be doing so much damage (on our bank accounts).

I have some stuff to do and places to go but essentially I am here to refuel on creative juices. Just a 2-hour plane ride and you're transported to another universe-- this vibrant, intoxicating city never fails to inspire me.

At the moment I am at my favorite hideaway, where there's good coffee and free wifi. I have to get some work done before I hit the outlets this afternoon. I know, I know.. I haven't forgotten my pact with dear hubby but what's an afternoon trip to Lane Crawford and Joyce outlets, not too mention Space?! Who knows, I might just find the inspiration I'm looking for there. (Wink- wink)

snaps from the weekend

Hubby and I finally found time to catch the most talked about movie of late last Friday night. Followed by a run down on the week that flew by without us noticing it, over a bottle of white. It was a nice, quiet date we haven't had in a long time.

Saturday was all about the little girl and her car seat. You see, car seats in Manila are not mandatory and I know it's a little too late to start her on it now that she's a few months shy of 2 years. But hubby and I insisted and boy how we primed her for this. The last and only time she was strapped up on one was when we were in San Francisco earlier this year. She was defiant then but later on gave in-- as she had no choice! This time around we were a bit apprehensive, knowing how smart, cheeky, and independent she has become. But the excitement we built around it worked that it was as if its a great new toy which she happily sat on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will last a looooong time.

Come Sunday we indulged in some good fresh air, a plethora of sweets, wonderful company, and a whole lot of bubbles!
