dissection of an ensemble {tailored lace}

It's been a couple of days and you haven't heard a peep from me. I've been away and I wish I could say it was for a holiday but no, it was for business. Our hostess in Bangkok certainly went out of her way to make us feel at home though. I thought I would have time to blog when away from my desk but as it turns out, time is never on my side when on a business trip.

So here I am trying to get my groove back. An outfit post should do the trick. A few weekends ago, Hubby and I went out for a few drinks with some good friends. I finally got to wear my lace and sheer dress from Subculture. I thought it was a little too dressy for where we were headed so I toughened it up with a crisp, tailored white shirt from Uniqlo. Everything else just fell into place, well at least, I'd like to think they did.

Bangkok Bound

I know. There's no Bangkok in the destinations listed above. What a shame. I just thought what an opportune time to share with you another great find at the "I'm Shoe In Love" bazaar. This one's an over run so I got it for a song. I heard they sell this over at Swell Stuff. Haven't been to their shops but with stuff like this, I bet it's worth a trip.
Now let me share with you my attempt to get organized when traveling. Pouches, pouches, pouches! My quintessential travel tote is compartmentalized into several pouches. The CHICIFY travel pouch can hold my notebook, pen, calling card holder, little calculator, and whatnots. And since I hate bringing my wallet whenever I travel, this Swell Stuff travel wallet is perfect. It holds credit cards, documents, passports, notes and coins too! Do you see those labels on the credit card pockets? Hilarious! Should hubby's go to boyfriend's or dad's? How can they not think of husband's credit cards??!
I really have to get going. Oh before that, have you gotten a copy of Samantha Sotto's Before Ever After? Can't wait to start flipping. It's accompanying me on this trip. Get it through National Bookstore.

Bye for now! Next time you hear from me, I'll be blogging from the vibrant city of Bangkok!

I missed yesterday's weekly fantasy closet visit. Sorry about that. Hoping you didn't notice, here I am scrambling to share with you what I wish my suitcase to Bangkok is filled with. I leave in a few hours and have a couple more errands to do before I can head to the airport.

As always, I try to travel chic and light. Key word: try.

Teepees

We've been trying to divise a plan to get Le Misch to sleep on her own bed through the night. She starts off there but ends up in between us in the morning. While we are enjoying these priceless bonding moments, we know at the back of our heads that this has got to stop someday, somehow.

She loves the idea of camping in the room so I thought, why not build a teepee since I don't really like a camping-looking-tent in sight, all the time. Aside from the fact that teepees are more appealing than the tents they sell in toy stores, it looks like something that our all-around handyman can do. I'm thinking of painting the canvas, stripes, just like what we did with the table cloth for hubby's 35th. What do you think?

The idea still has safety issues I need to tackle and of course I don't expect a teepee to answer our sleeping dilemma but it's a start, right? A teepee might just give her a sense of independence and security when sleeping. And if it doesn't work, it would still look nice in a playroom.
