dissection of ensembles and then some

In lieu of the weekly snaps from the weekend, which most often than not dominated by Le Misch, all the snaps I got from the weekend that was,  are of my winter ensembles from China to Hong Kong. The weather plus having no one to converse with, resulted to chronicling my daily battle with the cold in the best concoctions I could whip up given my limited winter wear resources.

DAY 4

Frock for a Change

I do bring a dress (or two) for moments when we I have to go somewhere fancy. Not that I did this time 'round. I wore this during the day. And I always keep the prints as minimal as I could.

The coat needs some nipping-in here and there but everything else looks dapper to me.

Fantasy Closet {7°C Out Here!}

As I sit here at the hotel lobby waiting to board my bus from a town in China to Hong Kong City, I couldn't help but fantasize of a winter closet chocful of these.

I try to be as efficient as I could when packing especially for a cold place. I stick with the basics. No prints, patterns, and wild colors for me. I have learned through the years of trotting around the globe that the smartest way really is to pack the essentials. That and a few light weight accessories like scarves to spruce up any day in any corner of the world. You always have to leave room for some shopping right?

There's something about trams that make me want to ride them whenever I'm here. Hubby finds it strange that I would rather ride them over trains and taxis.

Well for one it's not as crowded as the trains can get and definitely not as expensive as taxis. But more than that, it's the old world charm it brings. I love that it's open air and that you can just hop on and hop off on its many stops on the streets. Try it and get charmed when you find yourself in this corner of the world.

The Hong Kong holiday is over and I can hardly wait to see, hug, and smother the little girl with kisses. It's weekend and we are buzzed to be spending it with her.

Fantasy Closet-- Caping in Hong Kong

It's chilly outside and even if winter is fast approaching, it's not enough to bring out the thicker clothing. Not just yet.  It can be cold when you set foot out the door but midday is warm and sunny and cold again at night. My answer to transitional weather is the cape.

The cape is my obsession du jour. Most especially one in camel. It's easy and non-restricting albeit oh-so-chic. My fantasy closet has spoken and these are the pieces to bask in in the breezy and pleasant weather in Hong Kong now.

checking in from hong kong

Yes I am a little early for the Lanvin x H&M reveal, but no ladies, I am not here for that. (Well, of course, I kinda wish I was.) Hubby, who's here for business, was kind enough to have me tag along on the premise I won't be doing so much damage (on our bank accounts).

I have some stuff to do and places to go but essentially I am here to refuel on creative juices. Just a 2-hour plane ride and you're transported to another universe-- this vibrant, intoxicating city never fails to inspire me.

At the moment I am at my favorite hideaway, where there's good coffee and free wifi. I have to get some work done before I hit the outlets this afternoon. I know, I know.. I haven't forgotten my pact with dear hubby but what's an afternoon trip to Lane Crawford and Joyce outlets, not too mention Space?! Who knows, I might just find the inspiration I'm looking for there. (Wink- wink)
