Playing it by Ear

Got my eyes on some ear candies over at ZALORA. While collar neck pieces and arm parties are still the rage, these earrings seem to be making just as bold a statement. Now pop over ZALORA and give your earlobes some jaw-droppin', shoulder-grazin', lovin'!

Fantasy Closet {Mad Rad Plaid}

I always find myself putting out my plaid button down the night before only to put it back inside the closet in the morning. It's quite a challenging article of clothing especially when intended for the workplace. I, however, decided to give it a try for today's fantasy closet feature and it proved to be promising. In fact, one that can potentially give significant style mileage. Now, the plaid button down deserves another shot tomorrow morning.

Bar Cart Obsessions

On top of work, motherhood, and this obviously neglected blog, I have projects lying around my mind. Things, someday I'd have time to do and more importantly have a place to execute. One of which is a bar cart. Been itching to put together one especially since the Mr. and I both appreciate a cocktail or two at  a rough day's end.
I gathered inspiration across the web, more conveniently through Pinterest and here are some carts that have worsened my obsession.
I like how the gold bamboo-like iron plays contrast to the white wicker material.
The lampshade is unexpected but sure adds a personal touch to the gorgeous vignette the homeowner has going on here.
Lining up lemons is charming.
A nicely refurbished wrought iron cart in white is always a good bet.
Adding little elements of surprise is key to an interesting bar cart vignette like table tennis paddles and a bowl of colorful candies.
Now if you're thinking of organizing one at home, Matchgirl has listed the essentials. You don't need all but at least one or two of each element is good. And in my case, I didn't even need a cart.

My overly eager little assistant and I rounded up the essentials we can find at home and put together a makeshift bar cart for her dad. A far cry from our inspirations above but we are pleased of the outcome and this will have to make do for now.

Packing for One

I don't remember the last time I packed for the beach just for myself. I've forgotten how good and liberating it felt. It's nice to get away without having to bring the whole kaboodle once in awhile, isn't it? So what did I pack for a few days at the beach? Just the good 'ole black and white, my trusty cover-ups, and some beach appropriate baubles. It felt strange not having to pack diapers, loads of sunscreen, and milk bottles though.

Wish you're all having a rad Sunday!

DIY Mermaid Skirt Essentials

For a Nuffnang event, Le Misch had several themes to choose from: Underwarter; Hawaiian; Jungle; and Brittish Tea Party. It came to no surprise that she chose to be a mermaid. It was not exactly the easiest and I simply refused to buy a character themed one from the toy store. So we did a little research online and found one that was fairly easy to make using materials we already have at home. And viola, a non-restricting mermaid skirt that that cost me nothing but is definitely worth something when worn with such delight.

She was so happy to have a hand in creating this costume and she completed her mermaid look herself with creations from her jar of beads.

Want to try it at home? Find instructions here. Enjoy!

Stella McCartney Resort 2013

What better way to showcase an exuberant resort collection than a garden party? Of course Stella McCartney, with a knack for throwing awesome fetes and presentations, hosted yet another hit of an outdoor fair. Who can forget last year's resort presentation (which was very similar to this year's, save for the collection) and Fall 2012's flash mob in London Fashion Week?
The party sure looked like a hit and goes without saying, so will the clothes. (images via fashionologie)

The Ramp's Mixology Study

For it's second installment in Philippine Fashion Week, The Ramp yet again, did not disappoint. A burst of paisleys and peplums dominated the show- prints and cuts some of us chose to forget as they are just deemed too difficult to pull off. The Ramp, however managed to freshen up the trends in a manner that even the plainest Jane can rock. Here are my favorite looks from the show.

The fashion pack's got-to stayed true to its mixology form with clever mixes of hard and soft, structural and feminine. Take even just one winning piece from the collection and you are sure to have something trusty you can work day-to-night, workweek to weekend. And I'm not talking about basics here.. but special pieces with a subtle wow factor that is becoming to be The Ramp's signature.

For a little mixology exercise, here's a formula that sure is working for me. Remember, its all about finding balance even if you're sporting 3 to 4 trends at a time.

All from The Ramp and are all available online too!
