Easter Weekend Tidbits

For the Easter weekend, instead of visiting my hometown for some uninterrupted quality time with my fambam, we met down south in a sleepy university town called Dumaguete. My folks and siblings drove for five hours while we flew for one.

We stayed in a resort about three towns away from the city and just practically swam, ate, and slept. We were in serious vacation mode with some snorkeling and cruising thrown in. And with Le Misch being such a big fan of water, she was naturally in her element, swimming for hours on end.

On our third day we decided to put a little twist to our long planned vacay by moving to the city for a night. We chanced upon this quaint, Mediterranean-inspired resort, Floretina Homes, and were instantly charmed by its interiors. If you ever find yourself in Dumaguete, I highly recommend this place.

How was your Easter weekend? Here's to hoping it involved family, some rest, and reflection. Tomorrow, we are back to the grind, refreshed and rejuvenated, knowing we have a lot to be thankful for.

Weekend Tidbits

Our weekend was filled to the brim as usual but not a lot of snaps were taken. The reason being, we are all under the weather and no one is spared. And as many of you can relate, nothing is more stressful than caring for an unwell child. What we got here, however, is a tough cookie and is always happy to see her favorite doctor.

While we are all recuperating from a nasty cough, here's a snapshot of her hand-picked ensemble featuring a floral kimono which makes for a fun layering piece. I can't just make kimonos for myself and not for her too, right?

Carioca Mini coming out soon.

Weekend Tidbits

Whenever good food and even better company are involved, our weekend is definitely made. Throw in  some road trip, cool breezy weather, a dip in the pool-- and the little missy is over the moon.

Spending the weekend with my college friends out of town, with our little families tagging along is a luxury nowadays, thus one is treasured dearly.

The wonderful weekend that was.

Weekend Tidbits

It's always nice to cap off a long week with some outdoor play and comfort food in the company of good old friends. At Micshka's BFF's 3rd birthday, we had such and then some.
It was a laid back party but I've never seen kids have so much fun. Hotdogs, slides, swings, the sand box,
ice cream, all that-- topped off with a calesa ride around the block!

Such was the highlight of our weekend. The rest of it were pleasant "just-us-three" moments enough to rejuvenate working parents for another work week ahead.

Weekend Tidbits

We made time to see MV Logos Hope, the world's biggest floating book fair, over the weekend. Le Misch was so excited, she was actually skipping and hopping going on board the ship! We all had a wonderful time browsing the book fair and picking up some copies to keep. While most books are at a bargain, we were there for the experience more than anything else. I hope you were able to catch MV Logos before it sails away to Subic today.
It was the first time in 3 weeks that I had a work free weekend. Naturally, what transpired was one filled with Mischka. Right now, weekends are all about her. So aside from the floating book fair on Saturday, we took a spontaneous road trip to Nuvali on Sunday. Just us three and it was heavenly.

The weekend that was. Wish yours was as lovely.

Weekend Tidbits

This pretty much sums up our weekend. Misch and I have been prepping for her tea party. She is very much involved probably more so than me. Incidentally, March issues have hit the newsstands. (March and September are the only issues I am willing to pay for in full retail.) Nice to brush up on the Spring trends and take a breather from all the cupcake talk around here.
We had a round of drinks with some friends visiting from the US at Big Bad Wolf. The new hangout had me at their Amaretto Sour.
An a affordable art fair in Salcedo Park dubbed as Art in the Park, I would say, was the highlight of our weekend. The goal of the organization behind it is to make art accessible, removing the hoity-toity-ness of galleries and bringing it to the unbounded spaces of the outdoors.

I'm so glad we went in spite of the weather. The place was bustling with art from established, emerging, and new Filipino artists.  Jazz music was playing and just around the corner were wine and food concessionaires. It was a perfect afternoon for creative souls save for our muddy soles from the wet grounds.

The weekend that was. Wishing yours was as art-infused as ours.

Weekend Tidbits

It was a working weekend for us. While battling an awful stomach bug that has plagued me since late last week, I had commitments to fullfil over the weekend that I just couldn't bail out on. One was our friend's round-the-clock bridal shower which I set up and just couldn't stay til the party. I missed out on some details for the set up but I heard they had an awesome night so that makes me happy.

Come Sunday, I had my first ever cover styling gig with a huge star, a Disney legend, and an incredible mother all rolled into one. It was tough especially when you're not exactly in tip-top shape. Good thing, my overly eager little assistant was there to lighten the load.

The weekend that was. How was yours?
