wedding dress musings

Everybody seemed to be talking about just one thing over the weekend. The royal wedding and the dress.  I must admit-- I was a tad disappointed. Only because I had great expectations. I long had an inkling it was gonna be Alexander McQueen. For reasons that the bride had a strong sense of patronage to British designers. It has got to be McQueen.

I had dreamy visions of this brilliant confection floating on the aisles of Westminster Abbey. Hence my feeling when I finally saw Kate's dress.

Don't get me wrong. I think she looked amazing and I am happy she did choose McQueen (through the loving hands of Sarah Burton). I was just expecting more. But then again, Kate is a typical English Rose and her dress along with everything else she had a hand in planning and executing in that fairy tale wedding is true to her. 

We got to give it to her and cut her some slack. After all, this possibly future queen of England did her own makeup on her wedding day. Who among us can do that nowadays?
